Gathering reports is easy if you know where to start.
Referrals are generally your best method of collecting reports but to collect reports you must first network with others.
Citizens who wish to make known their Bigfoot sightings usually contact:
1.The State police 2.The local police municipality 3.Sheriff’s department 4.local TV/radio 5.Newspaper.
The staff at these facilities identify their inability to adequately look into Bigfoot reports and thus are willing to cooperate with civilian organizations as well as private individuals to guarantee follow-up.
In order to capture the maximum number of referrals from the public, one needs a system of referrals from which reports can reach them.
To minimize setbacks in responding to a citizen report, one must create a working relationship with several facilities for direct receipt of Bigfoot reports.
A semi-annual letter to these facilities for direct receipt of sighting referrals is needed, with a follow up by telephone or personal contact to develop a bond.

The ______ Bigfoot Research Team, a nonprofit, civilian Bigfoot investigative and research organization, offers its assistance to investigate observations by the public of unusual animal sightings.(most people understand Bigfoot to be an animal… emphasis mine)
Our members are trained to single out cases of misidentification and thereby relieve your staff of such matters so as to allow concentration on more pertinent duties.
______ Organization employs a centralized response system, the investigator closest to the scene being assigned to contact the witness(es) who report a claimed encounter. For your convenience and that of the witnesses,calls regarding a Bigfoot or Sasquatch sighting should be referred to:
(123)456-7890             Name
                                  Street
                                  City-state & zip code
1.The following procedures have proved most effective:
2.Staff obtain the caller’s residence telephone number and call the referral party above.
                                                          OR
Staff offer the referral number to an anonymous caller;

3.A telephone interview is conducted with the caller, resolving the observation as a normal occurrence, if possible;

4.For observations not immediately identifiable ,a local_____ organization representative is assigned to initiate an on-site interview and review and make collateral contacts if necessary;
5.Upon completing the investigation, a summary report is prepared(to be shared with your agency upon request).

We appreciate the professionalism your staff exhibits when citizens seek assistance to explain something not readily understood.By referring such calls to our organization, you provide a valuable public service. Thank You.

It is highly recommended that one utilizes a telephone answering machine for situations of temporary absence. Similar arrangements are suggested with Civil Defense agencies, public and college libraries.3x5 pre-stamped postcards can be utilized for cost effectiveness and a fair amount of exposure can be attained for very little capital outlay.
Hope this works for all of the investigators out there who utilize this procedure.
I have obtained some amazing results with this.
Let me know hot it works.
